Vermont has long been an incubator for developing the people, principles, and practices that sustain our planet. Today’s cadre of socially responsible companies apply those concepts to their business practices and are yielding great results. Vermont is home to many B-Certified Corporations: for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. There are many registered B-Corps in Vermont–ranging from famous food producers like Ben & Jerry’s to financial institutions like Clean Yield Asset Management—the second highest number in New England.
