The trio of friends who founded Citizen Cider took what felt like a long time to evolve and grow their unique product. But really it took only four years from producing their first keg to selling almost 600,000 gallons of delicious hard cider. Yankee Magazine’s profile of the company and its success reveals the team’s preference for New England apples and their desire to create an orchard full of perfect New England apple trees. Consumer apple preferences and the growing awareness of this unique product will make cider tastings a new attraction for visitors and Vermonters alike.
